Educational Outreach Poster
Steps and Guidelines:
Explore the various graphic editing options in Fireworks, such as Gradients and "Filters" for titles. Use transparent background colors for text boxes. Add a border to your poster. Make your poster look as professional as possible.
- Create a new Fireworks Document. Save it in a new folder named for your topic.
- Make your canvas size 24X18 inches. Resolution:72.
- Copy and Paste your edited paragraphs into an open text box. Left justify paragraphs.
- Use consistent text sizes and fonts for sub-titles and also for text. Sub-titles slightly larger than text. Sub-titles Bold.
- Organize poster elements: Fill spaces, align paragraph text boxes and images, balance text with images.
- Make background color or image light or transparent for contrast and printing purposes
- Include the following on your poster:
- Title and your name (Title VERY large, your name much smaller)
- Edited paragraphs and sub-titles (copy and paste from your Word document into an open text box)
- 5 Graphics, both pictures and diagrams. Only graphics related to your topic. Use full-sized images, don't distort.
- Citation of sources:
- URL of images in small font under images
- List of sources of information (name of host site and URL) at bottom right corner
